family tree

I love my family.

I would do just about anything for family.

As our kids were growing up and not very interesting in loving and respecting one another, I would tell them over and over [and OVER AGAIN]??Your brother/sister will be in your life forever and some day you might even be best friends?work on your relationship?don?t work on destroying it.?? Then I would go on to say, ?I know it?s hard to believe but ?chances are? your friends will NOT be in your life forever!?

I would share that last portion so carefully because I knew that they absolutely DID NOT believe a word of it but I had to say it because I knew it to be true.

One of my great joys is to see my kids interact in a fun, positive way.? In a month I will no longer have any teenagers.? Although they still have an occasional bump in their relationship with one another, it?s wonderful to see them genuinely love each other and see the value in working through the tough spots.

I grew up in a home where family was everything.? We spent so much time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc?.and I loved every bit of it.

I come from good people.? I hope it doesn?t sound like I?m boasting.? I?m not!? I have just learned over the years what a gift and a blessing it has been to me.

Another huge blessing is that on both sides of our family, couples for generations have known the value of commitment to one another. ? They said, ?I do!? and they have been committed to their vows through the good times and bad.

Such great examples to so many!
